The Mark volume in the EEC series (forthcoming)

Evangelical Exegetical Commentary

Although not much has been said yet, there is a new commentary series in the works. In the last letter that I received from the editor he encouraged us to talk up the series with our friends ("I hope that you are ... spreading the word of EEC to your friends"), so I'm assuming that means this is now public info. I've been asked to do the volume on Mark, though I've not yet signed a contract. There will be a meeting at ETS this year (2009), and I expect to see a contract then. The big decision then looms: do I have time to write a commentary at the targeted academic level within their projected schedule? The series is being described as "between BECNT and WBC" in terms of content and academic level. That's a fairly high target. I don't know when the first volume will appear; it's not imminent.

The general editor is Wayne House; OT editor, Walt Kaiser; and NT editor, Hall Harris. The contributors at this point are as follows.
